A Partial Eclipse of the Heart is an up-coming digital art plus live music show happening at Berghain club on Thursday May 4th. The event features over 30 artists, including Natacha Mankowski & Resi Bender, Black Cracker, Simonne Jones and many more who all use the paradigm of light and darkness in their art piece or performance. The opening ceremony will be a dark drone techno improv, the second live will be dark synth-pop by Autist and the third perfomance will be lighter synth-pop from L.A. duo Rainbow Arabia.
To celebrate this mix of music genres, Peter Kirn, aka Imaski, remixed Rainbow Arabia’s Plena, taken from their recently released album L.A. Heartbreak on Kompakt Records. Imaski’s remix re-imagines this electro single as lively, heavy house. Tiffany’s vocals transform into re-pitched play on gender, adding urgency to her crooned pleas. This is some Berlin-style, immediate longing tugging at the duo’s easy California vibe. Kirn drenches the vocals in delays and adds some 909 pastiche as heard on the Imaski debut, in an all-in embrace of dance pop. And now this remix can be yours – courtesy of the artists, KALTBLUT and A Partial Eclipse of the Heart!
