Having impressed the likes of Scuba, Laurent Garnier, Tensnake, Jamie Jones, Horse Meat Disco’s Severino, Matthew Dear, John Talabot and Crazy P, with their debut single ‘Complain’, squareglass’ Athlete Whippet (aka Ballerino and Bunki) are back with their second single ‘Tired of Being Alone’, a shimmering house delight that provides a perfect antidote to post-summer blues. Opening with an extended wavy harmony loop, the track introduces fragmented instrumentals that are progressively developed and conjoined into a lightweight and bouncy compound. As the track moves forward, the Whippets drop cheeky references to genres like deep house, disco and funk, topped with a touch of Latin, bongo-fueled vibe, which together result in a distinguished and rich sound. Bolstered by the pair’s mixing sensibility, the track cleverly fuses live instruments with muffled and fractured audio samples, and creates an intriguing sense of spatial–depth. ‘Tired Of Being Alone’ will be released October 21st via squareglass.
