Last weekend the Berlin Alternative Fashion Week took place in Berlin for the third time. Here is our second part of Sebastian Pollin´s backstage review for KALTBLUT.
“It is a fashion week that celebrates non-conformity and one which challenges gender roles and restrictive attitudes, in order to give everyone the freedom to choose what they want to wear and to explore new identities and possibilities. We believe that fashion should be inclusive, rather than exclusive, and that’s exactly what our fashion week proposes; our shows, talks and market spaces will give everyone the opportunity to encounter new and independent designers, explore ethical and sustainable ways of buying and sourcing materials, and discover innovative approaches to styling. The designers we are working with have real vision, striving to design clothes that are exciting, innovative, sustainable and affordable, and that celebrate colour and vitality. Our main show, ‘Alchemy,’ will be the melting pot of this creativity, offering new designers the chance to develop their ideas into something truly sublime in an nonrestrictive atmosphere.” Adam Rose – Berlin Alternative Fashion Week.
