Editorial made in Brazil!
“Divino Profano” is a stunning fashion editorial by the young photographer Matheus Avlis. Starring the Brazilian supermodel Lorena Braga .
We published the story some month ago in our Editorial Issue#01. We liked the story so much that we have created the issue just around this black and white editorial!

KALTBLUT had a little chat with Matheus Avlis.
KALTBLUT: Hello Matheus! We have to say : Thank you ! We are in love with your story and with Lorena! Tell us something about the idea to the shoot „ Divino Profano“
Matheus: After a team meeting with Ivan Cavalcante (Styling) and Make up artist Manu Teixeira we had the idea to work with the theme religion. I wanted to create a story with a strong woman. A woman who has a strong connection to religion, but also retaining her feelings and at one time she gets free from that. Divine and Profane .
The location we have found for this is a narrative cloistered convent in Sierra Morena.
KALTBLUT: How did you found your stunning model. I mean, I just love her!! Who is she?
Matheus: We made a selection of girls that could fit the profile of the editorial, the model should be exotic with a big attitude. The model that most surprised us was Lorraine Braga represented by Ford Models in Brazil.
KALTBLUT: Brazil is very well known in the world for the beauty of the women there. Is this the reason why you have start already with 13 years old to do photography?
Matheus: Actually Brazil is world renowned for the beauty of our women, proud disso. But this was not the main reason I started shooting. My passion for photography goes beyond with what I see in beauty, to present attitude in fashion photography has always fascinated me more than beauty.
KALTBLUT: There is a big, big fashion market in Brazil. is it easy there to work as a fashion photographer?
Matheus: The fashion market in Brazil is big, yes. But it does not mean it was easy to get into this world. It is here also a hard work.
KALTBLUT: Is there any other photographer do you like in the fashion world? Who is your icon?
Matheus: I like many. I love Patrick Dermachelier.
KALTBLUT: How would you describe your style of photography?
Matheus:I do not follow a standard style, I believe in a personal vision of each. I like to work with feelings, I’m inspired by conceptual fashion photography!
KALTBLUT: You are based in Brazil. Are you also working in other countrys? Europe for example?
Matheus: Not yet, but it is one of my future plans.
KALTBLUT: Who is your favorite model?
Matheus: I like a lot, Raquel Zimmermann she my favorite.
KALTBLUT: Art or Fashion?
Matheus:The the junction of both directions , because I think they are sticked together.
KALTBLUT: Analog or digital photography. What do you like more?
Matheus: I am part of the digital generation, I also like analog photography, but I admire digital a lot!
