Educate Your Ears: Fabrikate

The production duo behind the behind the emerging artist act Fabrikate prefer to distance themselves from the limelight, keeping much information about themselves unclear, this is reflected in their branding; hidden behind minimalist masks when behind the camera and on stage. The reasoning behind their anonymity stems from their goal to let their unique take on electronic music speak for itself.

Since their first remix release back in December of 2014, they have showcased a variety of influences in a series of popular remixes and singles; ranging from a more traditional Deep House sound, to tracks reminiscent of the L.A. Bass House scene… But now Fabrikate has revealed their musical identity by dropping their debut album ‘Bodies’ seemingly out of nowhere. The debut album breaks far out of the box of trendy styles of House, bringing heavily retro-inspired compositions written without a DJ set in mind.

‘Bodies’ showcases the duo’s passion for appropriating early era electronic production techniques onto modern dance arrangements, frequent elements of retro analog synthesis and “80’s action movie” rhythm sections blend cleverly with House & Electronica facets across the album. ‘Bodies’ features talented vocal toplines that capture a unique atmosphere sought after by the production duo; from film score to dance floor, the album is true to the niche they’re cutting out for themselves.

‘Bodies’ is out now via Kookoo Records
