Monika Bancyr-de-Angeli is based in London UK. Monika art practice is a visual journey through her readings of ancients religions and mystery cults as well as understandings of concepts and ideas that lie at the foundations of our complex identity as human beings.
” Through my visual practice I am creating a space where I can experience my insights, questions, sudden enlightenments. It is a space to speak about the mysteries of life and death, of human psyche with its longings, rejections, suppressions…..
Through my art I am constructing space where abstractions become evoked and materialise here and now, in front of our eyes. My graphics are collaged with specially chosen and manipulated art works by Gustave Dore. His work bridges my contemporary insights and technology with ancient writings and universal human experiences evoked through his illustration work for Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri , The Holy Bible or Paradise Lost by John Milton. ”
