The “Cocoon” issue!

Our close friends from GRIT Magazine have a new issue out. Autumn 12/13. And I love love it. “Fashion is at times a cocoon, a solitary club that everyone is trying to get in to, well for AW12/13 fashion’s cocoon is influencing the way we dress, taking inspiration from interior decoration. Think Prada’s womenswear show, which was staged on the boldest of purple carpets or Kenzo’s AW collection, which initially stemmed from how a woman would decorate a room with a bowl of fruit, abstract perhaps, but the collection was a kaleidoscope of colour and a triumph. Much like our Grit Menswear editorials for the issue, focused on the recent print explosion in men’s clothing. For The Grit Cocoon issue we also took on the tough durability of leather with model Renee Van Seggern, photographed by Nicole Maria Winkler (Tank). Looking to heroes of the industry Grit takes on Sonia Rykiel: an innovator in fashion as well as a fighter. Finally as always we look to new emerging talents in fashion, particularly label Leutton Postle. Want to know more? Better get in to the Cocoon. “
