Introducing designer Jan Brovč and his collection: Cha Cha.

KALTBLUT is introducing Jan Brovč. A fashion and textile student on Faculty of Design in Slovenia. Name of collection is Cha Cha. Photography by Maja Krsnik. “Cha Cha was popular night club in 80s. In my final collection each look was inspired by different artist of that time. Leigh Bowery, Martin Degville, Judy Blame and Stephen Jones. Each garment has a different texture based on artist aesthetic. Techniques were screen printing, hand pleating, embroidery, trash upcycling. Looks are connected by similar details. At the moment I am finishing my last year of BA degree. Garments that I create and produce are unisex. Main inspiration for my work are 80s club scene. With that I am trying to create looks combined with my own aesthetic. Most of the garments are based on different textures as hand embroidery, screen print, fabric deformations… I do not pay attention on wearability. In my designing process I use everything that is available around to use as a part of the creation. Upcycling. I always say more is more. ” says Jan Brovč
