ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF THE FUTURE WORLD
Borrowing from the visual vocabulary of techno-noir classics, such as Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell, KQK SS18 collection offers its own interpretation of dystopian sci-fi. In the face of a society´s over-reliance on high-tech, Quirion explores the duality of man and machine in a smoldering urban wasteland. Her designincorporates cold colors, such as black, white and navy blue; lustrous leather details reminiscent of intertwined blades and angular cuts revealing subtle and strategic slits. Every piece is compelling and crafted to convey heroic flair underneath which resides a feminine elegance.
A series of timeless pieces inspired by minimal and androgynous aesthetic, interpreting an effortless mixture of streetwear edginess and sophistication.
KQK is an urban Canadian fashion label known for its synthesis of classic tailoring and downtown streetwear. Avid lover of music and travel, founder and designer Karen Quirion captures in her craft the relentless energy of contemporary punk: independent, minimalistic, elusive, magnetic and forever young.By pairing dark colors with eye-catching shades and by experimenting with new shapes, KQK documents the fleeting, novelty-seeking temperament of modern punk in a hybrid and non-binary wardrobe. As a result, the clothes are sophisticated and humble, yet endowed with a defiant and uncensored attitude, thus blending elegance with nonchalance.
