FANTASY

Walking quietly along the night’s sand, feeling the tingle and ease of the wind wash over my skin. It felt lost crawling through my hair, searching for a space until it found a home…my pores! The entrance sent quick shivers through me, a current sparked. The mist grew as I walked…closer and closer the incoming tides washed over my feet leaving behind wet memories of where I was coming from. And then I saw it again, this time a bit clearer but in a moment’s escape it was gone nothing but grey clouds.

The sound I heard next drove the shivers deeper within my body. I stopped, gritting my teeth and steadying my shaking fingers as I fought to hear the tune again. Trying to recall it, trying to name it. But it was too beautiful, I had never heard a tune that perfect before. Alas! I found its source! He or she, I couldn’t tell. Its frame had so much length and the clouds looked like they were one with it. Folds of silver foams that seemed to agree with its outline. But it was dark; the bare skin shone a crimson black.

Close enough and I was in awe. Standing at the edge of the hill between the sky and the earth it stood breathing melodies into its flute. With each tune played, with each passing melody, the sky turned. The moon shifted and the sun rose. A minstrel!
