SS’13 COLLECTION
PATH’s SS’13 collection entiteled ‘ARCHETYPE’ expresses a rule breaking reinvention of modern menswear by showing a unique vision of masculinty. PATH’s signature aesthetic reaches a new level of sophistication mixed with a masculine strength. The brand takes influences from traditonal tailoring mixed with functional details taken from sportswear to create unique, innovative pieces of high fashion. It combines the classic and the contemporary, the future and the past. Precise simplicity comes together with refined cuts, high quality of material and outstanding craftmanship. This collection is a contemporary reinvention of classic shapes and clean lines, distinctive and dynamically designed. In typical the PATH style, colour was left to a minimum, with a palatte of mainly neutral black, an eye-catching light green, khaki and a dark red was added to the collection.
Cutting-edge, sharp and modern, PATH finds the fine edges in a soft tailored wardrobe with a dark twist. Complete with light layers, modern suits, graphical monochrome prints and transparent shirts, all seamlessly comes together as a delightful impact. Whether dressed in a technical fabric or let out in fines cotton or cashmere wool, the garments of PATH represent the attitude of a future men’s ready to wear wardrobe.
About the label
PATH designer Janine Grosche marks a rule breaking reinvention of menswear. Hailing from Berlin but truley established her label in China’s Capital Beijing, PATH was first launched in 2011 with it’s debut collection for SS’11 entiteled ‘Static Facileness’. Within the short time since the label was first established, PATH has taken the menswear industry by storm with it’s minimalistic style and the play on traditional menswear and proportions.
PATH represents contemporary minimalism, radical modernisms and noncalant elegance. The design transcends the line between avant-garde and ready to wear fashion as a new genre for men. PATH’s garments are contrastive. Serious, but never severe, meticulous but experimental, minimal but bold, soft but constructed. PATH appears strong but always sensual. With the combination of diverse contrasting textures and subtle structured details, PATH appears refreshing with it’s minimal take on menswear.
