‘x TAPE’ is the first mixtape by London-based writer/producer, LOXE, who has recently been working with a number of breakthrough artists, including BRIT award nominated NAO on her critically acclaimed debut album ‘For All We Know’, as well as her two EP’s ‘So Good’ and ‘February 15’. Now LOXE steps out from behind the mixing desk for his collaborative mixtape, out via Dusty Records.
“The focus of x TAPE is on collaboration, fusing the sounds of the other artists and staying un-precious to the final result”, says LOXE. ‘x TAPE’ includes nine featured artists, collaborating with Frank Gamble to create the future R&B bounce of ‘Faded’, while ‘Safe To Me’ is a down-tempo Balearic sounding groove, featuring rising artist Alyss. Other features include Kastro, Tara Carosielli, CUBA and more.
Whether it be the alt-pop sounds of Rosie Lowe or the left-field obscurity of Sevdaliza, LOXE’s production is versatile and carefully crafted. LOXE’s production and writing work has also seen him collaborate on projects with Grime heavyweight Stormzy on NAO’s ‘For All We Know’ Remix EP, with Syd (from LA outfit The Internet), and LA-based Ry X.
