Pyer Moss Fall / Winter 2018

#NewYorkFashionWeek! Pyer Moss unveiled the new Fall / Winter 2018 collection in New York! Love it. Photographer Adomako Aman went backstage and close to the catwalk for KALTBLUT to shoot new model faces, the new collection and fashion heavy hitters such as Fabulous, Stylist June Ambrose, Kehlani, Clermint Twins, Justine Skye. Pyer Moss was founded in 2013 by Kerby Jean-Raymond. The project began as an experiment to reintepret nostalgic cues from the designers childhood starting with classic athletic gear and sports uniforms seen in the designer’s youth, sports he did not have the means to participate in. Subsequent collections focused on Sci-Fi movies, educational textbooks and hip-hop focused brands from the 90’s that he admired from afar. The designer reintrepreted all of these nostalgic concepts by first adding opulent cues to traditional clothing pieces respective to those themes and then refining the fit for modern daily use. Pyer Moss has since evolved from a brand that focused on nostalgic themes to current social commentary. Jean-Raymond describes the brand as an “art project” or “a timely social experiment” at times. Pyer Moss continues to redefine itself every season with collections that aim to provoke thought, combine storytelling, activism, debate, theatre and social commentary; all while collaborating with other artists including Erykah Badu, Usher, Gregory Siff, Maurice Scarlett, Driely Viera, Vic Mensa, Kari Faux and more. The Pyer Moss collections are produced in Italy and New York City.
