#BERLIN! Created as a passion project in 2006, XPOSED has built itself a reputation of creating entertaining, odd, left of centre Queer Film Programs. The festival is made up by people who enjoy making festivals, who enjoy queer films, filmmakers and queer Berlin. After a lengthy research period, the programming team have completed their 12th program! With 53 short films from 20 countries, XPOSED is staying close to it’s roots presenting six short film programs, packed with diverse and unconventional works from around the globe. Celebrating its German premiere, 4 DAYS IN FRANCE from Jérôme Reybaud will open the festival on the 11th of May, while Alain Guiraudie’s STAYING VERTICAL will close the festival after the Lolly Awards ceremony on the 14th of May in the legendary Moviemento Kino. This year’s special guest, performance artist, filmmaker and feminist icon VALIE EXPORT will present her film UNSICHTBARE GEGNER (Invisible Adversaries) and participate in the annual film talk, for the first time in the new festival location aquarium , Skalitzer Str. 6, next to Südblock.
The Queer Short Film Fund , launched in 2015, goes into its third year and filmmakers have the opportunity to present their short film projects to a jury of film professionals and the general public, also in aquarium. The winner will receive of a cash prize of €1000 and €2000 worth of technical services from prize partner 25p *cine support.
The opening party will take place on 11 May from 10.30pm in Südblock with special guests STURLE DAGSLAND from Norway performing Live!
