Video Premiere: Femme Equation – PSYCHOTROPIC

Are you ready for new music? A song that stays in your ears all day long? Today we are hosting the video world premiere of Femme Equation new single PSYCHOTROPIC. Femme Equation is the new solo project of the Swede LINA WESTIN (Caviare Days). She calls her style “Transcendental Pop”: an examination of the subconscious. The first single Psychotropic unites a typical Scandinavian gloom with light tropical beats – a summer song of a different kind. Deep and with magnetic attractiveness, Psychotropic revolves around the search for one’s own self. Her melodies, says Lina Westin, often come to her in the dream, “like wonderful answers to questions that I had never consciously posed.” The artist, living in Stockholm, already lived in Berlin, New York, Singapore, Thailand, India and Costa Rica – a globetrotter life, whose scattered nature she also reflected in her songs. With the band Caviare Days, which founded Westin together with her sister, she already supported acts like The Soundtrack Of Our Lives and Allah-Las. Whoever liked the cool psychedelic-rock of their former band, will also have pleasure in Femme Equation.

Femme Equation is a mathematical project. I call it transcendental pop, because I create songs about dust that got stuck in my nervous system. I meditate on situations that still linger in my subconscious and deal with it by writing melodies.

It is private but still very distant. A part of me, but still not.

Most melodies came to me in dreams, like beautiful answers to questions I was not aware of that I had. Femme Equation was born because of these questions, and the math was done by producing the songs
