‘Dead Inside’ is the latest release from Antwerp producer Taska Black featuring vocals from London-based R&B singer Ayelle, out on bitbird. A song that both uplifts while acknowledging some things in life just don’t go as planned, ‘Dead Inside’ allows the listener to dwell in that dark place before coming back up for air. Taska’s dark bass production proves to be simultaneously optimistic while complex in theme and is perfectly complemented by Ayelle’s expressive vocals. With Dead Inside I tried to create an atmosphere with a certain emotion; dark and hopeless but still optimistic, simple and chaotic at the same time. Dead Inside refers to a form of depression amongst millennials. Feeling lifeless while being alive. The purpose of this song is to make these feelings heard and manage to deal with them, rather than a cry for help.
Having been involved in music since he was just four years old, 21-year-old classically trained producer Taska Black has a unique flair for creating sleek, ruminative bass music with the potential of crossing over into the pop realm.
