The 16th edition of the XPOSED Queer Film Festival Berlin takes place from the 26th to the 29th of May, 2022. Staying true to the festivals dedication and support for queer film production, the Queer Short Film Fund will be awarded for the eight time.
From now on and until 3rd of May, filmmakers* can apply with their scripts and concepts! The submitted projects should open up perspectives on queer topics that go beyond established LGBTQI representations of mainstream niche cinema. Five projects – form is open to fictional, documentary, animated, experimental or essayistic forms, but length limited to a maximum of 10 minutes – will be selected for a public pitch on May 28 at aquarium (Skalitzer Straße 6, 10999 Berlin).
The Queer Short Film Fund, launched on the occasion of the 10th festival anniversary, has been supporting queer short film productions since 2015. The Lolly Award Jury will select the winning project. The fund is awarded a cash prize of 1,500 €, a voucher for filming equipment worth 2,000 €, provided by 25p* cine support, two days of Grading – including Conforming – with additional creation of a DCP & Web Screener worth 3,000€, provided by Planemo, plus a voucher valued to 3000€ for the audio post-production at the BUFA dubbing studios, including the use of the Atelier Gardens co-working space.
In addition, the fund is accompanied by a mentoring programme: An industry expert advises the winner in five sessions from script development to the production phase and post-production.
