Whoever said diamonds are a girl’s best friend probably hasn’t visited Serbia, or to be more specific, Belgrade Fashion Week, where artistic designer Ana Ljubinkovic sent an army of pearls, lace applique and more jewel embellishments than a Swarovski state home down the runway for her newest and most sparkling A/W19 offering.

In a mouthwatering display entitled ‘Elsewhere’, Ana presented tailoring fitted to perfection in an eloquent show of intricate and luxurious fabrics, complete with dramatic shoulders, shaped in statement angel wing silhouettes fit for fashion royalty. Decorative day coat-dresses were a particular highlight featuring lavish embroidery rich in detail, all in an empowering palette of princess pastels as powder pinks, mint greens, sky blues and cloud creams crafted a dreamscape hue of mesmerising beauty from start to finish.

Worn by some of Pop’s biggest names like Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Paloma Faith, Ana’s experimentation with modern elegance continues as she showcases and extends her creative power in her ability to combine reality and imagination in one awe-inspiring moment. Diamonds are forever, but pearls definitely look better.
