New York Fashion Week – A Poet in New York! Spanish fashion house Etxeberria presented an amazing new collection for the next Autumn/Winter season in New York. + + + + + + + + + Official about: “ROBERTO LÓPEZ ETXEBERRIA was born in Eibar, Guipúzcoa, in 1976. After studying Fashion Design at Felicidad Duce (Barcelona), he worked as an assistant of fashion designer Sergei Povaguin between 2005 and 2008; the same year he created his own brand, ETXEBERRIA, specializing in menswear. Between 2008 and 2010, the company attended with small collections to Pasarela Vigo (2008, “Night Calls” and 2009 “Dress Code”) and Creamoda Bilbao (2010, “Portraits”), respectively receiving an accessit, a second prize and first prize. In 2011 presented two complete collections on Ego de Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week: “La piel que habito” (a/w 2012-13) and “Jour de fête” (s/s 2012), winning with both the L’Oreal Award to the best collection. Also in the 2011, the brand was selected to represent Spain in the second edition of La Maison de la Création of Marseille, was invited by the Spanish Embassy in Austria to introduce the collection “La piel que habito” in the Vienna Fashion Week and in October showed the collection in the Brooklyn Fashion Week in New York, achieving a great success and an important impact in the international press. In February 2012 presented their a/w 2012-13 “Winter Journey” with a fashion show in the OFF MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK MADRID.

+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + In September, once again in OFF MBFWM, the collection “La piel del sur”, s/s 2013 was presented. This collection was also present in the Pitti Uomo fair in Firenze. In February 2013 and for the first time, the brand was presented in the official selection of MBFWM, with the a/w 2013-14 collection “Paris Berlín Moscú”. Once again, this collection was presented in Pitti Uomo Firenze and in the PROJECT NY fair. In June 2013, the brand was invited to a private venue in Washington to show the collection Jour de Fête. In September 2013, the last collection (s/s 2014) called “Gernika” was presented in the official selection of MBFWM, with great success, great media impact and critics. This collection was in the showrooms Pitti Uomo, PROJECT NY and The Tents Las Vegas. Some of his creations have been integrated in an exhibition in the spanish embassy in London. This October, the designer has been a special guest in DesignBlok Prague, taking part in several events and also showing again the last winter collection.

Also, the colombian association of whool producers Festilana and journalist Pilar Castaño have invited him to Bogotá to show the same collection and get to know the techniques and local crafstsmen. In January 2014, the collection “Midwinter men”, a/w 2014-15 was presented in MBFWM, again with great success. In april this year, ETXEBERRIA was selected to be part of the exhibition “Made in Spain: La mode au-delà des frontières” (Made in Spain, fashion beyond borders), held in the Spanish embassy in Paris. Some pieces of his last collection were chosen to participate in an exhibition celebrated in the Spanish embassy in Lisbon, among other Spanish designers. In June, Etxeberria was named “Fashion’s new best talent”, and the prize was delivered by the Queen of Spain. September the 7th, and for the first time, the brand showed in the official selection of MBFWNewYork the s/s 2015 collection “Pura Piel”. Also, the 15th of September, “Pura Piel” s/s 2015, in its womenswear version was presented in MBFWMadrid. For this double spring- summer season collection, the brand established a partnership with Castañer in order to design and produce sandals of the highest quality in terms of design and manufacturing. Also in September, Icon Magazine granted the brand with the “Creativity Icon Prize“. Later this month some of his creations have been integrated in an GQ Magazine exhibition in Madrid called “Man in Progress” among other designers such as Yamamoto and Margiela.”
