“Foresigns” – triple bill by Nitsan Margaliot

#SaveTheDate – 17 &1 8 December 2022 – Berlin! Foresigns is an evening of 3 pieces by Berlin-based choreographer Nitsan Margaliot: “A Visit”, “En Moon” and “Returning”. The duet “A Visit” was created together with musician Mari Sawada and premiered with Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop at Radialsystem Berlin last year. It deals with abandoned stories and previously experienced encounters. The two partners embark on divergent and colliding time travels, shifting back and forth between different events of the past.

“En Moon” is the first choreographic work by Nitsan Margaliot, created in 2013, shortly before he moved from Israel to Germany. “En Moon” is a solo, a prayer to the moon by the last living being that brings back memories to the world.

The premiere of “Returning” was streamed online from Dock 11, Berlin, in the frame of Soundance Festival 2021, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This year’s show “Returning” will be the first opportunity for an audience to see it live.

“Returning” questions how one can exist outside of their own skin – it emphasises the impossibility of having a complete perspective and objectivity on ourselves.

All three pieces, “A Visit”, “En Moon” and “Returning” present Nitsan Margaliot’s artistic journey and choreographic process. The evening “Foresigns – Triple Bill” features the dancers Scott Jennings and Nitsan Margaliot, as well as the musicians Mari Sawada and Boram Lie.

The performances are accompanied by live music (violin & cello), and take place at Kunstquartier Bethanien – Studio 2 on the 2nd floor, on Saturday, 17 December, at 7 pm and Sunday, 18 December, at 4 pm & 7 pm.
