Shot in London and Shanghai, the new campaign connects the worlds of the two cities by depicting different characters speaking on old-school cell phones, car phones and hotel phones. Gucci‘s new advertising campaign for glasses for the Fall/Winter 2021-22 season travels through time and space through a series of images in which the protagonists are captured using a variety of retro telephones.
Set in a studio, a bedroom, the back of a limousine and various hotel venues, the images show a group of striking-looking Gucci wearers talking on the phone while sporting new frames for the season.
The inspiration for these glasses spans different eras, combining retro appeal and modern sophistication in perfect harmony. Shapes with generous volumes and delicate profiles are crafted from thick, faceted acetate and subtle metal with luminous finishes. Delicate chains and embellishments add character to the decor, as do exquisite details including the interlocking G logo and heart silhouette. The new designs recall the 80s and 90s, offering classic appeal through masculine redesigned aviator frames with distinctive double bridge detail and ornamental rivets.
