The collection will be unveiled on Stranger Things Day, an annual event that commemorates the day Will Byers – one of the series’ protagonists – disappeared in 1983 and turned the world upside down. 

The collection includes a men’s and women’s t-shirt and a denim jacket for men. The Wrangler design team was inspired by the 80s atmosphere of the show. Various washings, as well as further modifications, create the typical 80s “used look”.

Wrangler® Continues Expansion in Berlin with Second Retail Location

Wrangler® announced that it will continue the brand’s expansion in Germany by opening its second Berlin retail location in early November. The store concept is inspired by the brand’s iconic cowboy spirit and commitment to sustainability.

“The initial success of our first Berlin location has paved the way for today’s expansion. Our retail locations are the ultimate personifications of our brand and consumers can expect to see the best of what Wrangler has to offer at the Mall of Berlin storefront,” said Johan de Niel, VP Brands, Kontoor Brands, parent company to the Wrangler brand. “The new retail store creates a consumer journey into Wrangler’s iconic style and will feature the brand’s most beloved collection.”

Created in North Carolina in 1947 as an outfitter to rodeo legends, Wrangler remains a key rodeo sponsor and an integral part of the western lifestyle. The brand’s enduring relationship with the sport and culture of rodeo inspired Wrangler’s new Berlin store concept. The yellow fencing of the rodeo arena is echoed in seating areas and the cash desk.

Throughout the 60s and 70s, Wrangler’s advertising took on an influential pop art look, and this is reflected in collages featuring archived campaign imagery adding to the layers of brand history throughout the store.

Sustainability is a driving force of the brand, and the store uses reclaimed materials – such as the wood in the fitting rooms – as well as giving new life to elements used in previous stores.

To support the health and well-being of employees and consumers during the COVID-19 pandemic, Wrangler stores are implementing a number of health and safety protocols including increased sanitization and cleaning and adjustments to store layout and checkout to allow for adequate social distancing. In accordance with local government regulations, all employees and consumers are required to wear a face-covering while in the store. The Company is monitoring and complying with orders of local governments in all jurisdictions in which it operates.

At over 100 square metres, the store will open in November in the vibrant and prestigious Mall of Berlin, in the city centre.
