LOOM! 21 January – 3 February 2023 HOLON, Berlin

HOLON is a new interdisciplinary format for research and play. Initiated by Berlin-based experience design company MONOMANGO, it uses virtual instruments to support knowledge transfer, and collaboration, and connect people between the virtual and physical spheres. The opening exhibition took place in Winter 2022 and will now open its doors for its second exhibition on the occasion of Vorspiel 2023 CTM/Transmediale.

HOLON’s core format combines solo as well as collaborative exhibitions which bring artists from different fields together as a way to expand the limits of their work and explore new contexts. Their findings are documented and showcased at the end of each project period as a site-specific commission.

HOLON also sets out to provide a stage for discussions and performances that shed light on new technologies and their environmental and social impact. As well as to understand how physical and virtual spaces can support our human experiences.

For more information about the program and curatorial concept, visit the HOLON website and its associated social media channels. There, you will find more information about the artists and themes.

On the occasion of Vorspiel 2023 CTM/Transmediale, HOLON presents LOOM by ATELIER-E; an installation in which phosphorescent threads store information as light and transform a loom into a never-ending weaving machine of algorithmic patterns and sounds. ATELIER-E is a Berlin-based media studio founded by the artists and creative technologists Christian Losert and Daniel Dalfovo.
