Chinese designer brand PRIVATE POLICY made it rain down gold in an expensive display of power, prestige and all that mulla in their GQ Presents AW19 catwalk show at #LFWM.

For AW19, “Human Vs Money” explores our obsession with consumption, reflecting our own personal relationships with money and human greed. Models paced around office desks, chairs and cabinets referencing the mundane worker in contrast to the man in charge. The ever present domination of money is visible through a vest with pockets of shredded bills from the United States and Saudi Arabia, quilted silk jackets with printed coin-wrapper patterns and embroidered detailing lifting imagery and wordage from currencies including Qing dynasty coins.

The collection offers a wide range of outerwear, shirting, tailored pants, harnesses, scarves and accessories in a color palette of rich browns, greys and blacks accenting pops of gold, burnt orange and vibrant orange.  All seen in oversized wool coats and outerwear referencing bankers, clear quilted vests and harnesses in homage to police officers and robbers with denim utility workwear representing the working class.

Private Policy you served us gold fever. More money, more stitches, more clothes.
