#tbt Janet Jackson – ‘When I Think Of You’

Time to head back to classic 80’s Janet Jackson and some epic choreography from the one and only Paula Abdul. Released during 1986, ‘When I Think Of You’ was Jackson’s first number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100, and also peaked at number ten in the UK. The music video finds Jackson going around a neighbourhood, where each location she visits has the same mysterious man in different costumes who vanishes each time she turns around. Director Julien Temple, who would later direct Jackson’s ‘Alright’, had some scenes staged by veteran Hollywood choreographer Michael Kidd. The video has only five cuts but was styled to look as though it was only one long take.
