Top 5 Videos Of The Week

It’s Friday and you know what that means! Moscow Mules! Oh, and some videos. Every week KALTBLUT pulls together our most favourite and newest music videos from around the globe so you can enjoy effortless, scroll-free visual pleasure – enjoy!

Du Blonde – Black Flag
‘Black Flag’ is taken from the forthcoming album, Welcome Back To Milk by Du Blonde (the new project from Beth Jeans Houghton) out May 18/19 on Mute. I can only imagine that this is some sort of continuation of the desert scene from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Those lips though, they’d totally eat those bats alive.

Emilie Nicolas – Pstereo
I’m determined to include as many trippy videos into this list today. So without further adieu, I present a giant floating mountain whale. Straight from Emilie’s album Like I’m A Warrior, released 26.06, Pstereo is the beautiful new video from the talented young Norwegian. Shot completely in Scotland, this is one of Emilie’s first songs which is actually a cover that ended up being ridiculously popular. I’m catching a chill just watching this!

Hope – Raw

After previously playing under the name Mademoiselle Zazou, Hope are a Berlin based band consisting of Phillip, Fabian, Martin and vocalist Christine. ‘Raw’ is a powerful addition to their current album, ‘Nude’. An impressive video with light and shadow, cuts and bleeds, and the absence of any colour, ‘Raw’ is taking freshly named Hope in the right direction. The foursome are touring Germany this May so make sure to catch them!

Everything Everything – Distant Past
Released as the lead single from the band’s third upcoming studio album, Get to Heaven, this is the perfect example of why you should step back and take time away from your computer every so often. Simply if you don’t, you lose your shit, your brain cells deteriorate and you’re left as a neanderthal wanting  to beat the crap out of anyone and everyone – otherwise known to some as a Saturday night out. Fantasticly fun fact time! British wrestler Ed Gamester stars in the video and it was filmed in Cheddar Gorge, Somerset, England. The most English sounding place ever.

Nocturnal Sunshine – Take Me There
What a tune to finish off our Top 5! Under Maya Jane Cole’s alter ego, Nocturnal Sunshine, this is the first single to be released from the self titled album coming out later this May. The single is already available digitally now, and comes as a limited 12 “version, including the non-album track ‘Never Too Late’ – both amazing songs! Dub dub chee. Dub dub chee.
