Peaches – Dick In The Air

I’m still jealous of this fuzzy onesie that Peaches and Margaret Cho wear in this video. This is one of my most favourite of all the videos this year because it’s just hilarious, and there’s a scene right in the middle where Peaches is laying next to Barbra Streisand’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, singing “Memories”. Beautiful.

Rangleklods – Schoolgirls

Full of suggestive scenes, this video is completely filled with nods to some of my favourite Japanese artists and photographers. It’s ridiculously perverse, from the tearing open a grapefruit to frisky tentacles. All in the name of art!

Charli XCX – Famous

I love it because its a great pop song and the video is a good reflection of our society now. And turn it out in a funny way. LOL!

Rihanna – Bitch Better Have My Money

Waiting for #r8, this mini movie for BBHMM is DOPE at so many different levels. You can choose to watch it on very first literal level and just see a misogyn clip, or you can emerge yourself a bit more and see the racial argument that Rihanna is bringing here.

Christine and the Queens – Paradis Perdus

You do not need a lot of bling bling to make an amazing video! Our favourite French pop artist Christine and the Queens released her beautiful video for ‘Paradis Perdus’ via Vogue. An interpolation of Kanye West’s ‘Heartless’, the song features verses sung in French which are an interoplation of Christophe’s 1973 song ‘Les paradis perdus’. alongside her take on the original’s chorus.

Rose McGowan – RM486

The Hollywood iconoclast and “Death Proof” star Rose McGowan teams up with “Spun” director Jonas Åkerlund for her first music video, “RM486,” styled by Swedish fashion maverick B. Åkerlund. “All five characters in the video are versions of me,” McGowan said of the video on its YouTube page. “All are pieces that make up my whole — an artist, a public figure, and most importantly, as a person. I’m pushing back at the idea of what I am supposed to be. I want to expose people to art in a real way, and I want to change the idea of what beauty is. There is true power in art and true power in we who believe in it.”
