What a night it was! We were beyond thrilled to be invited once again to the world premiere of BLINDED by DELIGHT at the Friedrichstadt-Palast, a dazzling spectacle that transported us all into a realm of dreams. The evening saw a full house of 1,900 guests, including numerous celebrities from the realms of society, politics, and culture, who joined in a heartfelt celebration. The audience erupted into standing ovations, praising the cast and crew for an unforgettable performance that truly touched our hearts.
The show, which is the most expensive production in the history of the Palast at 15 million euros, was conceived by producer Berndt Schmidt and brought to life by director and author Oliver Hoppmann. Despite a somewhat slow storyline, the incredible dance performances and artistic expressions made every moment captivating.
A special shoutout to Jeremy Scott for his stunning designs! The nearly 600 custom costumes brought a visual feast to the stage, and his innovative vision was palpable throughout the performance. The show is a MUST-SEE, and if you have the opportunity, you won’t want to miss it!
The excitement was palpable as ticket sales soared past 180,000 after the pre-sale launch, an unprecedented record for the Palast, underscoring the public’s anticipation for this Grand Show. BLINDED by DELIGHT tells the enchanting story of Luci awakening in a world filled with her unfulfilled wishes, grappling with the choice between realism and chasing her dreams. With breathtaking choreography, riveting songs, and a spectacular stage design, the production inspires us all to believe in our dreams and embrace the joy they can bring to our lives.
The esteemed cast features Denise Lucia Aquino as Luci and Julian David as the man of her dreams, along with a talented ensemble that promises to keep audiences spellbound.
