Levi’s: A Legacy of Support and Expression

Levi’s has long been an unwavering ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, standing resilient in societal challenges. In an era where far-right ideologies threaten to erode hard-won freedoms, Levi’s continues to champion inclusivity and self-expression.

Celebrating Queer Joy and Rodeo Culture

For Pride 2024, Levi’s delves into the rich tapestry of LGBTQIA+ rodeo culture with a collection that is both nostalgic and refreshing. The “NOT OUR FIRST RODEO” line draws inspiration from the queer “Rainbow Rodeos” of 1970s Nevada, infusing classic western wear with contemporary chic.

The collection is a celebration of queer joy, featuring an ensemble of tops, bottoms, and accessories adorned with glitz–rhinestones, copper thread, marbled hardware, and gold-coated denim. Highlights include the Cinched Shortstack Tee, Cropped Muscle Tank, Liberation Western Trucker, and the Patchwork Vest. The reversible styles and head-to-toe fit invite wearers to mix, match, and create their statement pieces, truly embodying Levi’s spirit of individuality.

Pride 2024 Cast: Icons of Style and Substance

Bringing the collection to life is an eclectic cast of creatives and influencers, including country musician Orville Peck, model and makeup artist Mattise Andrews, musician and Ruxwood founder Bronze Avery, Season 7 RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Violet Chachki, beauty photographer Paris Helena Elyte, and Stud Country founders Bailey Salisbury and Sean Monaghan. Their stories and personal styles enrich the narrative of queer joy and self-expression that Levi’s seeks to amplify.

Moving Beyond Fashion: A Commitment to Advocacy

Levi’s longstanding commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community extends beyond fashion. From early San Francisco Pride marches to being among the first to endorse the Equality Act, Levi Strauss & Co. has been a stalwart supporter of LGBTQIA+ rights. The iconic Levi’s 501® jeans have been symbols of protest, solidarity, and self-expression for decades, embodying the brand’s ethos.

In continued support, Levi’s is donating $100,000 to Outright International, a global organization dedicated to advancing human rights for LGBTQIA+ individuals worldwide. This gesture reaffirms Levi’s dedication to the fashion community and the global fight for equality and justice.

Embrace the Collection

Excitement for the Levi’s Pride 2024 collection is palpable. Available for purchase on Levi.com and in select Levi’s® stores, this collection is not just about clothing – it’s a celebration of heritage, resilience, and the vibrant spirit of the LGBTQIA+ community.

In these times of political upheaval, Levi’s and Hoe_mies have given Berlin a night to remember – a night where freedom, joy, and self-expression took centre stage. Together, they’ve proven that while it may not be their first rodeo, it’s certainly one for the history books.
