In his photography, as in his paintings, Robbie Wilhelm is exploring the beauty of young men. Beside the nice surface there is a chance to find the joy of freedom, airiness and impartiality that is often lacking in adulthood. “Just before he left Berlin, Aljoscha, an art student and model, showed me his working space. We went around this big house, making portraits. In former times it was crowded with busy people, now — let’s pretend it is ours, so we can walk around naked everywhere.”
