Alter Egos is about revisiting the past and the subconscious. It explores the vast and unlimited expressionism in gender fluidity while paying homage to eras of the past. Alter Ego lives outside of the binary and mutates into an amalgamation of calmness and trueness that represents the personal identification of the model.
Marie-Lisette is a fine art and editorial photographer living in Berlin. She combines artistic influences with her distinctive dramatic style and striking, yet equally vulnerable, portraiture. Her work focuses on societal issues such as gender, masculinity, and the representation of the human form.
In 2021, Marie-Lisette set up Cropp Studios, a female-run creative production studio, and rental studio in Berlin, currently operating from Cape Town until April.
