Argentinian artist Baby Yors is releasing a new music video for his song “EL UNO”

From a near-death experience to creativity in quarantine – Baby first began ideating “VIVE!” – which celebrates life by exploring mortality – following his near-death experience nine years ago. What started as poetry slowly began to take shape into something greater, all while Baby continued to perform, record and release additional music. Then, fueled by the solitude of the pandemic lockdown, Baby returned his focus to “VIVE!,” becoming his own producer while evoking the sounds of his native Argentina.

“This is the first time that I took such a big leap of faith and fully trusted myself as an artist and producer,” said Baby. “I made this album all alone in my home studio. Of course, I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the dozens of musicians around the world who played their instruments so beautifully, but still, at the end of the day the only person putting the pieces together and writing the parts was me and that was scary at first but eventually very liberating.”

A remote, international production
From that home studio, Baby amassed a global network of musical collaborators, executing the herculean task of recruiting musicians from multiple continents to help bring “VIVE!” to life. The album features a saxophonist from Italy, an orchestra from Russia, percussion from Argentina, an upright bass from Taiwan, a harp from Venezuela, a children’s choir and violinist from Spain and a Bandoneon player from Buenos Aires just to name a few.

All of these elements were meticulously curated and directed by Baby remotely, and then incorporated into the production of “VIVE!” in that humble studio that eventually moved to the renowned igloo studios in Los Angeles for the mixing stage. The studio is one of Hollywood’s main stops for big-studio movie soundtracks, led by the Grammy-winning sound engineer Gustavo Borner who mixed the album with Swiss musician Phil Raskin and Baby for a few months. The result is an undeniable and multicultural opus of anthemic ballads, as deeply personal to Baby as they are universally resonant.

As much a visual artist as he is a singer, songwriter, and producer, Baby has already shot material for music videos to accompany all 13 songs on the “VIVE!” album, which were filmed in California, Argentina, Colorado, New York City, Las Vegas and more. They will be released in the coming months, and much like the “VIVE!” tracks, the visuals are a testament to the creative camaraderie, captured with a crew of collaborators committed to one artist’s vision.
