Emerging from the vibrant underground scene of Ukraine, Shadu, a captivating artist and vocal DJ, unveiled her latest EP, featuring two striking tracks: “Waya” and “Integration.” This release promises a mesmerizing fusion of deep electronic grooves, vocal explorations, and avant-garde soundscapes, all showcasing Shadu’s innovative artistry.
The opening track, “Waya,” is a powerful anthem that catapults listeners on a thrilling sonic adventure. With its pulsating beats and emotive vocal layers, it creates an exhilarating atmosphere that resonates deeply.
On the other hand, “Integration” reveals Shadu’s contemplative side—an atmospheric piece that weaves together diverse musical styles and cultural threads, evoking themes of unity and interconnectedness in a richly textured sound experience.

In addition to the vocal path, you decided to add DJ-ing. Why did you and what was your motivation?
Synth-pop and electro-pop are two genres of electronic music I have always loved. I love the fact that there are so many different genres of electronic music. It has always been my wish to cross borders and be an international artist – to reach an audience in Ukraine and all over the world. A Ukrainian example of this is Artbat, one of the most popular DJs and sound producers in the world. About DJing – as a musician, I’ve always been interested in playing new instruments – first violin, then guitar, then piano! I’ve always been into DJing, so I decided to add it to my list. As soon as I started to pay more attention to it, I felt that this direction was so exciting and inspiring for me – I don’t know how I lived without DJing before. I will do a combination of DJing and singing. I think people will love this mix.
Why did you choose Afrohouse?
I like that there are so many different genres of electronic music. I have always wanted to go beyond the borders and to be an international artist – to get an audience not only in my home country but all over the world! I wanna show the world that Ukrainian musicians are very talented and create world-class music! Afrohouse is my number one at the moment! This music has its unique sound! And yes, for me it is essential to release the music that I’m living, the one that makes me feel good.
What are the most important principles in your work?
The most important thing is to be a musician, to hear and listen to music. To live music! To believe in yourself, to dream, not to be ashamed of your desires and not to be afraid to realize them! And to make quality music that people like.
Who is your favourite DJ today? What kind of music do you listen to?
Pretty much my entire playlist consists of Afro-house. Now I’m inspired by Keinmusik. Rampa, &me, Adam Port, Black Coffee, Hugel, Alex Wan, MoBlack.
SHADU Bio:
Shadu – the singer/vocal DJ was born in Ukraine, in the town of Partenit (Crimea). At the age of 6 she started studying at a music school in the violin class and graduated with honors. Shadu started her musical career in 2022.
