Asbjørn dropped his latest single “Vulnerably Happy” today, marking another tantalizing entry in his alt-pop repertoire. The Danish trailblazer is set to unveil his fourth album, “The Secret Our Bodies Hold,” on November 1st under his creative banner, Body of Work.
Introducing Asbjørn’s New Single: “Vulnerably Happy”
This summer saw Asbjørn ascend from an indie sensation to a national phenomenon. He’s become a staple on the airwaves and graces the cover of GAFFA Magazine, Denmark’s answer to the UK’s NME. His electric performances at the Roskilde Festival and appearances on national breakfast television with his duo Brimheim, playing “New Moon, Same Old Me,” only stoked the flames of his rising stardom.
“Vulnerably Happy” is a paradox wrapped in a synth-laden beat, juxtaposing mechanical rhythms with Asbjørn’s fragile confession of unrequited love. “Picture this,” Asbjørn invites us. “A broken-hearted me, waiting for a bus at a construction site. The aggressive polyrhythmic sounds of the machinery pushed my body into new, strange movements. I rushed home, translating those movements into beats, and poured my heartache on top.” This visceral process has defined his latest work: “I used my body as a compass,” he reflects. “Instead of producing music to dance to, I danced the music to life.”

“The Secret Our Bodies Hold” promises to be a raw, intimate journey of physical and emotional translation. Slated for release on November 1st, fans can also look forward to an intimate tour kicking off in late October. And for the Berlin insiders, a covert show is on the horizon—details forthcoming.
