Backstage at Marke Fall/Winter 26-27 – The Owl

Berlin Fashion Week witnessed a delightful celebration of creativity and thoughtfulness with the unveiling of MARKÉ’s Fall/Winter 2026/27 collection, “THE OWL.” Captured brilliantly by photographer Shin Jeong Hoon, the backstage moments highlighted the artistry and passion that permeate this remarkable event. Let us celebrate this beautiful manifestation of thought-provoking fashion and the extraordinary talents that brought it to life. Love, love, love it!

In this collection, the illustrious Minerva’s Owl watches with keen insight as the designer channels their reflections on a pressing sentiment, one of helplessness and disbelief amidst the tumultuous waves of information we now navigate. It’s an adventure of emotions skillfully delved into through the lens of fashion.

As we scroll through an endless barrage of content, this collection resonates deeply with the designer’s concerns about the unchecked consumption of misinformation. The stark contrast between accessible knowledge and the apathy toward critical thinking poses a profound challenge to our contemporary existence. The designer poignantly expresses this paradox, invoking feelings that echo the regressive tides of history, where belief often overshadows reason.

“THE OWL” serves as a mirror to society’s complexities, drawing inspiration from historical epochs, reminiscent of the late Rococo period, marked by decadent beauty and a longing for individuality amidst conformity. The collection’s silhouettes juxtapose references from classical menswear with elements of Rococo splendour, materialising distinct shapes that speak to the present while honouring the past.

With a refined palette of greys, blacks, and soft eggshells, accented by whispers of merlot and petrol, the garments are crafted from luxurious materials like Australian Merino wool, cashmere, and exceedingly rich silks. Each piece is a reflection of the designer’s vision, balancing restrained elegance with daring creativity.

In a striking pivot from the previous season’s romantic escapism, “THE OWL” marks a transformative journey towards clarity and focus. This collection is not merely fashion; it is an invitation for introspection—encouraging us to rethink our engagement with knowledge and the world around us.
