Madrid Fashion Week! Photographer Ionela Bona went backstage for us during the MENCHEN TOMAS presentation. Words and all photos by Ionela Bona! “The eye on the backstage. I specialized in portraying the backstage before a show, it helps me connect with the essence of each brand as the nerves and the vibes of each team are different.”

Blitz! And we are in another decade.

Blitz! And the New Romanticism is back (now named by WGSN the Circus Trend).

Blitz! And we are metaphorically in London, where, in the early 80s, a club of the same name served as a crucible for the fashion and music of that era.

Menchen Tomas, the Barcelona-based fashion name founded in 1995, has unveiled its latest collection “Blitz” at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid for Autumn/Winter 2025-26. The entire production process of this brand is carried out in Spain to achieve maximum quality control of the final product through continuous monitoring of each stage.

This collection pays homage to the New Romanticism era, now named “Circus Trend” by WGSN. Garments create a dialogue between past and present, repurposing historical elements with innovative techniques and modern minimal patterns. The result is an eclectic, elegant, and sophisticated aesthetic that invites reflection on sustainability.

It is so that we can find ornate details such as brooches with stones and ribbons on the chest, which could very well be taken from a flea market due to their 18th-century appearance. Elaborate jewellery in the same style on the buttonholes of the shirts, with piping and English collars. In the garments, we can find bloomers, and mini-skirts with volumes, in conjunction with long dresses endowed with visual liquidity that wraps the model’s body when in motion. Blitz features shapes, patterns, and ethnic references, particularly Asian, as well as military and historical.

Not to forget the delicious colour palette, reminiscent of French meringues in eucalyptus green and porcelain blue as well as pale pink, further enhancing the visual appeal. These delicate hues are brought to life through a variety of luxurious fabrics, including delicate silks, structured crepes, chantilly lace, and acetate.

Olga, the creative director, confesses that dressing for her is a creative, cultural act. In this case, with her designs, she creates a sensation of movement, texture, and above all, luxury.
