Backstage at No Art No Home #5

On April 12, 2025, Berlin’s artistic and cultural landscape was transformed by an electrifying event: No Art No Home #5. Under the evocative theme “A Day of Unapologetic Creativity,” the NOTAGALLERY was temporarily turned into a realm of extraordinary expression. What began in 2019 as a platform for young artists—initiated by two best friends and supported by a project manager—has now evolved into a vibrant cultural movement, celebrated for its raw, loud, brave, and undeniably authentic essence.

The event featured an incredible fashion show, showcasing the bold creations of talented designers whose stories defy mainstream narratives. These are the visionary designers who took part in NANO #5:

Mentis Miseria: Dark Romanticism meets Cyberpunk—characterized by tattered silhouettes, LED-embellished fabrics, and hoods with claw applications. Represents the struggle between mental demons and self-empowerment.

Bollëy Clothing: Upcycled streetwear crafted from piles of old clothing—oversized jackets with political embroidery and frayed denim capes. “Fashion as a weapon against fast fashion.”

DEAR DIARY: Sheer tulle layers over scarred bodies, adorned with jewelry made from rusty keys. Transforms intimate diary entries into wearable poetry.

Moth Couture: Wing-like cape constructions made from recycled plastic bags, paired with iridescent masks.
“We are the moths—drawn to the light of extinction parties.”

NOYCE: Gender-fluid latex overalls featuring neon slogans like “Destroy Binary.”
Queer utopias from the queerest corner of Neukölln.

Ouaski: Nomadic cuts with robotic joints, giving the impression that AI has consumed Berber carpets.
“Our clothing is a passport to worlds that do not yet exist.”

Adding a special touch to the event, photographer Shin Jeong Hoon ventured backstage, capturing the essence and energy of the night in a series of striking images. His lens not only documented the stunning outfits and vibrant atmosphere but also the passion and creativity that made No Art No Home #5 an unforgettable experience. The evening culminated in an exhilarating after-show party, where art, music, and community intertwined, leaving everyone in attendance inspired and eager for what lies ahead.

As NANO continues to break the mold, it stands as a testament to the power of art in fostering creativity and inclusivity. The future of fashion and art lies in the unapologetic expressions that events like No Art No Home #5 champion.
