As part of Berlin Fashion Week, Nowrubi Atelier Berlin unveiled its Fall/Winter 2026 collection titled “INNOCENCE”. The label’s work is rooted in a continuous exploration of identity, belonging, and personal development, focusing on childhood as an emotional memory space: fragile, subjective, and influential at once. All backstage photos by photographer Shin Jeong Hoon.

For designer Ruben Nowak, founder of Nowrubi Atelier Berlin, this perspective holds an additional dimension. As a father, he experiences childhood not just as a memory but as an ongoing experience, observing the wonder, openness, and radical honesty of a child in everyday life.

At the heart of “INNOCENCE” is the question of how formative early experiences shape one’s perception and self-definition. The collection does not view childhood as a nostalgically idealised state, but rather as a complex experiential space characterised by imagination, uncertainty, discovery, and early forms of self-assertion.
This thematic layer is reflected in the design of the collection’s look. Contrasting materials and silhouettes dominate the aesthetic: structured cuts and tailoring combine with flowing fabrics and intentionally unconventional details. The shapes and cuts allow for freedom of movement, referencing curiosity and exploration. The designs balance between precise construction and playful openness, highlighting the tension between control and freedom.

The collection is divided into three thematic chapters, each interpreting different phases of growing up. The first phase addresses early childhood, a time of limitless imagination, fluid identities, and unrestricted possibilities. Dreams know no rules, and the future appears as an open promise.
The second phase marks the transition into a rebellious stage. Initial structures are questioned, and the conscious experience of one’s body begins. Innocence meets resistance, freedom encounters conflict, a phase of delineation; a search for individuality and identity.

The third phase addresses adulthood: routines, responsibility, and the feeling of being trapped in professional life. In this segment, “INNOCENCE” reflects on the dreams of childhood, with the hope that some have been preserved, others fulfilled, and the courage remains to pursue them further.
With “INNOCENCE,” Nowrubi Atelier Berlin continues its ongoing narrative work, utilising fashion as a medium for reflecting both personal and societal processes. This collection builds on the label’s previous works, where identity, transformation, and belonging were central themes, now expanding into a cross-generational perspective.
