BERLIN BLUE
The F/S 21 collection BERLIN BLUE deals with daily life. What is everyday life and how do we experience it personally? In order to pursue these questions, I have illustrated my everyday life in Berlin in photos and printed them as negatives with Cyanotype on fabric. This creates a new view of situations we know and face every day, which we often do not even perceive any more.
The collection consists of oversized cotton shirts and wide Summer pants made from old sheets. All the materials used in the collection are, for reasons of sustainability exclusively residual and second-hand materials. Cyanotype is one of the oldest photographic printing techniques, with the use of iron powder the colour “Berlin blue” is created. On textiles applied, Cyanotype is more environmentally friendly and water-saving than the conventional dyeing techniques of the fashion industry.
