Drag has always transcended simple entertainment; it stands as a vital vessel for artistic expression, cultural resistance, and community building. Produced by That Gay Creation—a collective of Berlin-based creatives, cultural organisers, and queer community members—the Berlin Drag Festival arrives at Festsaal Kreuzberg on August 23rd as a high-energy, one-day celebration designed to foster genuine connection between independent creators, established icons, and an expected 1,800 attendees. Built on a shared commitment to keeping queer culture growing through visibility and collaboration, the festival fuses live performance, education, and shared experience into a single, inclusive sanctuary for creative freedom.
Leading the charge is Pandora Nox, the Drag Race Germany winner who made worldwide franchise history as its first cisgender woman champion. Now evolving from European television icon to international recording artist, her multidisciplinary craft sits at the intersection of electronic club music, fashion, and performance art. Joining her is Parisian cabaret titan and Drag Race Global All Stars standout Soa de Muse, whose work seamlessly weaves contemporary dance, theatre, and Afrofuturism into a celebration of Black excellence and queer resistance. Guiding the day’s festivities as host is Austrian-born, Berlin-based icon Miss Ivanka T, bringing her signature mix of cheeky charm, TV-honed stage presence, and dialect-driven humour.
The main stage will also showcase a formidable roster of Berlin drag talent, including Thea Etcetera, Ocean, Rachel Intervention, Chiqui Love, Bratty White, Lili Alexander, Lola Limonero, and Matt Eagle.
The festival transforms Festsaal Kreuzberg into an expansive cultural playground where international live drag shows anchor a multifaceted schedule. Beyond the main stage performances, the event spans a curated maker’s marketplace, interactive skill-building sessions, intimate fan encounters, and open-air social spaces.
Central to the site is the Queer Creators Village, a marketplace spotlighting independent queer makers, fashion designers, and visual artists. For those looking to command the room, Drag Race star Soa de Muse leads the Catwalk Experience, a hands-on runway masterclass focused on stage presence, posture, and performance confidence. Additional creative Workshops dive deep into the technical craftsmanship of drag—from specialised makeup application to garment styling. Outdoors, attendees can refuel in the Food Garden with local food vendors, take the mic during Drag Karaoke, or head to the Meet & Greet zone for photos and conversation with the cast.
