What if the most dangerous thing a man could do was drop his guard? For their second creative collision, Berlin-based artist BLAZEY and director Ivan Boljat take over a retro boxing gym, converting a space built on physical discipline into a simmering pressure cooker of desire, control, and psychological fracture.

Initially conceived as a clean, single-take choreography piece, the music video for “Beauty in Da Beast” quickly mutated into a horror-tinged cinematic short. Sweating bodies move in rigid synchronicity, where athletic training operates as ritual and armor. Yet, beneath the hard exterior of masculine performance, the atmosphere begins to warp. The true transformation here is triggered not by violence or dominance, but by an intrusive, uninvited vulnerability. Whether BLAZEY steps into the ring to break the institution or simply exposes the latent tension already rotting beneath the floorboards is left chillingly open.

“I really wanted to return to the music video format because it gives me the freedom to express my thoughts about the world we live in,” shares director Ivan Boljat. “Blazey and I connect creatively on a level that makes it easy to push ideas further. What started as a simple concept kept growing into something much bigger, despite having virtually no budget. A huge thank you to the entire team for pushing through and being part of our vision.”
Brought to life alongside Berlin production company Soup and lensed by cinematographer Montell Taraschweski, “Beauty in Da Beast” thrives on pure independent filmmaking instincts: immediate, uncompromised, and unafraid to dismantle the fragile ego of the alpha male archetype.
