Body Movements Festival Unites Queer Creativity with The Queer Archive for a Vibrant Celebration

The UK’s premier queer festival, Body Movements, is set to return to Southwark Park for its electrifying Summer edition on Sunday, August 24, 2025. After the roaring success of their inaugural collaboration with the acclaimed international art collective, The Queer Archive, this year marks the exciting continuation of a partnership that celebrates queer creativity at the dynamic crossroads of music, performance, and visual art.

Since its inception in 2021, Body Movements has emerged as a vital fixture on the queer calendar, creating an immersive space where identity, expression, and community flourish across the vibrant spectrum of queer club culture. This year’s festival promises to bolster that commitment by showcasing global queer talent within a safe, inclusive environment, while expanding its creative horizons.

For the 2025 edition, festival attendees can look forward to the work of eight exceptional artists handpicked by The Queer Archive and Body Movements. Each artist offers a unique lens on queer life, identity, and the human body, inviting visitors to engage with and reflect on their perspectives. In a modern twist, interactive installations will feature QR codes, providing festival-goers with the opportunity to delve deeper into the artists’ backgrounds and practices.

ARTISTS

Daniel Paramio – His analogue photography captures moments of play and intimacy with subtle social and cultural critique.

Alina Gross – Based in Düsseldorf, Germany, Alina’s work portrays the female gaze of the body, with unusual perspectives and a sense of bizarre beauty.

Melody Melamed – A Los Angeles-born photographer exploring gender identity, sexuality, and the interplay between the body and the natural world, including themes of gender euphoria.

Rebecca Dorothy – Italian-born, Paris-based- Rebecca’s photography merges eroticism, intimacy, and vibrant storytelling, navigating between reality and fantasy.

Gaëtan Dubroca – From Marseille, Gaëtan’s multi-medium approach combines fashion, painting, and photography with a focus on light, erotism, and intimacy.

Ori Paul Levi – London-based Ori creates raw, edgy, and boldly queer images that combine quirkiness with attitude.

Javier Cerrada – Venezuelan photographer in Berlin, Javier’s work is experimental, conceptual, and autobiographical.

Maik Gräf – German photographer exploring queer theory and history, using analogue photography to evoke vulnerability and bodily perception.
