Camille Schaeffer is a multidisciplinary artist with a performing arts and interaction design background. She harnesses her artistic vision to craft immersive experiences that often embrace surreal elements. Her collaborations with various artists and creatives have led to various projects across the fashion, art, and design fields.
“ I feel like it hasn’t always been valued or understood. Being bold is in my everyday choices—it’s a statement. Like art, we can’t always be defined or categorized. I am not a painter or an artist as traditionally defined, and my book is just a visual representation of this—of who I am. The more I embrace myself and this boldness, the more authentic I feel. Ultimately, it’s all about freedom—the freedom to be who we are and who we want to be, without any expectations. ”
This shoot took place at Lynk & Co during an event powered by Prazzle and The Aesthetic Circle, where she had the opportunity to be the “artist of the evening.” She spoke about her journey, past collaborations, and how the relationships she’s built—both personal and professional—have opened doors to incredible projects and opportunities. In addition to the photo session, she directed a video where she delved into the theme of boldness and performed to bring this concept to life.
Over time, her artistic practice has evolved to encompass a range of mediums, from performances and videos to installations and sculptures. “My ultimate aim is to create immersive and interactive experiences that invite the audience into the unknown, the surreal, and the emotions that come with it—whether that’s fear, excitement, or something entirely new and indescribable. What fascinates me is how art can push people to explore uncharted territory within themselves, revealing layers they might not have known existed”.
“Art is more than a form of expression—it’s a tool for interaction and connection with the world. I view my work as performative, as it constantly generates different experiences”.
This shoot is no exception; in it, she explores and presents various sides of herself. In a society that pressures individuals to conform, it’s vital to remain in environments that nurture a sense of freedom. “This shoot felt like a reflection of my many selves, merging with my surroundings and evolving in the moment”.
