In 2019, Casey REAS, Rick Silva, Addie Wagenknecht, and artist duo exonemo (SEMBO Kensuke and AKAIWA Yae) initiated an unprecedented experiment. They invited a group of artists to bring one editioned artwork to swap with each other in a week-long exchange. This experiment, named a2p or artist-to-peer network, acted as the initial inspiration for Feral File’s structure and values.
Over two years since Feral File’s formation, The Experiment exhibition takes centre stage, attempting Feral File’s first non-collectable exhibition. This exhibition will feature one artwork from each of our 33 past shows while celebrating the launch of the renewed Feral File 2.0. Curated by Casey REAS, Feral File 1.0 showcases artworks in a diverse range of media, highlighting top works from the many talented artists the gallery has worked with over time.
