Danny Reinke Spring/Summer 2026 – The Hunt

Berlin Fashion Week! In Danny Reinke’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, titled “The Hunt,” the designer weaves a compelling narrative exploring desire, transformation, and the quest for inner freedom. Drawing inspiration from the renowned Unicorn Tapestries of the late 15th century, Reinke reinterprets the central motif of the unicorn hunt as a multifaceted symbol. Here, the hunt transcends the mere act of conquest, evolving into a journey of self-discovery and personal growth.

The collection is deeply infused with historical references from the Late Middle Ages and early Renaissance. Fashion archetypes from these periods—such as voluminous sleeve variations and bodice details—subtly integrate into contemporary designs, elegantly bridging past and present. An array of green shades, including olive and moss, evokes nature’s essence, while soft pastels and delicate butter-yellow hues impart a sense of lightness and warmth. Bright, varied yellows emerge as a vibrant harbinger of new beginnings, contrasting sharply with the colours black and purple, which embody the tension between the hunt and freedom, reflecting their intertwined shadows: the dark and the invisible.

The fabric selection showcases a commitment to high artistic and material standards: flowing silks, intricate lace, finely crafted wool fabrics, and opulent brocades merge in a sensual material dialogue. Meticulously handwoven compositions form the backbone of key looks, echoing a deep connection to traditional textile artistry. Crochet applications and fringes enhance the designs, lending them an artistic structure and dynamic movement, reminiscent of intricate tapestries from bygone eras. Crafted from recycled yarns, these materials also tell a contemporary story of sustainability and appreciation.

Lacing and bows run through the collection as a central design element, ranging from delicate and playful to functional, symbolising connection, transformation, and the delicate balance between holding on and letting go.

Silhouettes are fluid, body-hugging, and playful, embracing the form with an effortless elegance that defies heaviness. Long dresses, figure-flattering laced silk tunics, and transparent layers lend the collection a nearly weightless presence, while the historical source of inspiration remains visually upfront without veering into nostalgia.

“The Hunt” serves as a manifesto for inner transformation, questioning old patterns, and seeking new freedoms in thought. The collection is made exclusively to order from carefully selected deadstock materials, a clear commitment to sustainability, artisanal precision, and timeless excellence.

While the collection charms with its intricate details and historical references, it invites us to consider deeper notions of freedom and personal growth, striking a thoughtful balance that resonates well in today’s fashion landscape.
