David Koma Spring/Summer 2026 – I Love David

In a striking display at Intervention at Berlin Fashion Week, David Koma has unveiled his latest menswear collection, I LOVE DAVID, for Spring-Summer 2026. This collection is a dazzling blend of playfulness and reflective depth, exploring the multifaceted nature of contemporary masculinity through the lens of three iconic Davids: the athletically chic David Beckham, the timeless artistry of Michelangelo’s David, and, of course, Koma himself.

At first glance, the title seems a cheeky nod to these luminaries, but it deepens into a rich discourse on identity and the modern male psyche. By intertwining the stories of these figures, each representing a facet of male persona, Koma positions today’s man as both an idol and a unique individual, exploring how identity and self-awareness shape masculinity.

Drawing inspiration from Beckham’s turn-of-the-millennium aesthetic, the collection launches with low-slung, light-rinse denim artfully distressed to achieve a perfect vintage vibe. Statement outerwear takes centre stage, featuring brown aged leather trenches and waxed cotton smocks lined with vivid red shearling, channelling the height of celebrity culture. A cheeky T-shirt adorned with an appliqué and rhinestones, proclaiming I LOVE DAVID, pays homage to Beckham’s legendary I KISS FOOTBALL jersey.

Meanwhile, the influence of Michelangelo’s David breathes life into the collection through draped T-shirts that cascade across the body with marble-like elegance. Koma subverts the playful ‘souvenir’ apron, traditionally risqué, by reimagining it in sumptuous lace crochet, while graphic elements inspired by the statue artfully treat the body as a canvas.

Koma’s signature craftsmanship is woven throughout the collection, from delicate garter details manifested as crystal and rivet straps to enlarged houndstooth intarsia on knit pieces. Distinctive detachable waistband belts adorn jeans, while classic tailoring is reinvented through unexpected textures: sequined pinstripes, all-over plexiglass disc embroidery, and tulle tuxedo stripe panels pool with an intentional allure.

The hibiscus motif, a tribute to Koma’s sun-soaked summer travels, is reimagined into couture-level embellishment, boasting intricate sequin and bullion embroidery across impeccably crafted surf shorts. Show-stopping hand-embroidered brooches bloom on lapels, enhancing both elevated eveningwear and eclectic everyday pieces, proving that Koma’s creations transcend occasion.

As the menswear line enters its third season, I LOVE DAVID dives deeper into the brand’s evolving narrative. The Koma man is a tapestry of dualities: ornate yet understated, serious yet self-aware, commanding yet tender. He embodies unapologetic expression, instinctive modernity, and ceaseless movement. More than just a wardrobe, Koma offers a mirror reflecting the intricate, ever-evolving portrait of what it means to be a man in today’s world.
