A KALTBLUT exclusive by Elijah Ofosu. A Fashion, Editorial, and Portrait Photographer based in Hamburg, Germany. Through his imagery, he explores the intricate relationship between tradition and modernity within the diaspora. With a strong emphasis on Black identity and a dedication to documenting the journey of lifelong learning, he captures the essence of becoming and belonging in his work.

This editorial dives into the dynamic connection between the past and present of the African diaspora, celebrating the rich history of black identity and love. Immersed in the core of African identity through the lens of the diaspora, paying homage to traditional heritage while embracing modern Western influences.

Inspired by iconic portraits from pioneering West African photographers and the vibrant fashion of the 1960s and 1970s, the narrative unfolds with a blend of nostalgia and contemporary flair. Each look explores the fusion of traditional African identity with Western life, seamlessly integrating designs from influential modern fashion houses with indigenous fabrics. By incorporating West African patterns alongside personal artefacts like antique jewellery and ancestral garments, the editorial paints an authentic portrait of self-expression.
