Meret Siebenhaar, the Lucerne-based artist, is set to unveil her poignant debut single “Jährt,” a compelling and deeply personal exploration of loss. This heartfelt track is a precursor to her much-anticipated album “Goodbye Lullabies,” scheduled for release on February 27, 2026.

In “Jährt,” Siebenhaar reflects on the heart-wrenching aftermath of her brother’s passing, encapsulating the raw emotions evoked by his absence through vivid imagery, from the grass covering his urn to the headphones that now serve as a soundtrack for her own life. The Swiss German lyrics are delivered in a conversational style, accentuated by minimalistic instrumentation that underscores the song’s emotional weight.

With this release, Siebenhaar courageously opens a dialogue around grief, loss, and the often unspoken subject of suicide, issues that many find difficult to confront. The single is produced in her personal studio alongside co-producer Mario Bruderhofer, with contributions from Klara Germanier on bass and guitar and Nora Vetter on viola, creating a sound that is both intimate and expansive.

Siebenhaar’s music is known for its blend of intimacy and experimentation, often drawing comparisons to the likes of The Necks, Grouper, and Talk Talk. Her previous album, “Treibgut” (2024), introduced listeners to her prepared piano artistry, while “Goodbye Lullabies” promises to delve deeper into themes of grief and survival, resonating on a universal level.

With “Jährt,” Meret Siebenhaar invites us into a safe sonic space, challenging us to face our own thoughts and emotions while sharing her own journey of healing.
