The interior design, curated by the renowned London studio A-nrd, elegantly captures Copenhagen’s storied design heritage while intertwining it with the contemporary vibrancy of the Postbyen district. The building’s impressive monolithic architecture, characterised by massive concrete cylinders, terrazzo floors, and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, serves as a backdrop for a seamless celebration of modern Nordic design.
Central to the design philosophy are three core tenets: formal clarity, a connection to nature, and a sense of home. Clean architectural lines are balanced by soft colour palettes and earthy tones inspired by Copenhagen’s natural scenery. Dusty pinks, moss greens, and tranquil blue-grey shades meet refined lime surfaces and warm oak accents, creating a harmonious and inviting atmosphere.

While a cohesive design narrative unifies the hotel, each space possesses its unique character. The reception area marries the historical with the contemporary, featuring red-limewashed walls and exposed wooden elements that echo 17th-century Danish architecture, alongside sculptural lighting that instils a warm, welcoming ambience.
The restaurant and lounge reinterpret Scandinavian modernism, featuring rose-coloured limestone wall coverings, layered textiles, lush greenery, and generous, Poul Henningsen-inspired pendant lights, creating an inviting space to unwind. Meanwhile, the café elegantly pays homage to the understated sophistication of great Danish designers like Hans Wegner and Børge Mogensen, with its blend of clear forms and natural materials such as oak, stone, and cognac-hued leather, evoking the timeless charm of a modern neighbourhood bakery.

Designed by the acclaimed studio Grzywinski+Pons, the apartments at Locke Copenhagen reflect functional simplicity paired with artisanal warmth, evoking the serene elegance of contemporary Danish design. Oak wood floors, calming sage greens, soft nude-toned carpets, and mustard-yellow accents contrast beautifully with distinct architectural lines, exposed ceilings, bright, visible concrete, and copper-bronze window frames, creating tranquil retreats that feel like home.
Ideally located near Copenhagen Central Station, Locke Copenhagen is the perfect launchpad for exploring the city. Just a short walk away, guests can discover the enchanting Tivoli Gardens and the bustling Meatpacking District, where culture, culinary delights, and nightlife await right outside the door. Whether it’s a plunge into the harbour bath, a visit to the awe-inspiring rooftop ski slope of CopenHill, or relaxing moments spent in the new green public spaces of the neighbourhood, Locke Copenhagen beautifully blends urban living with Scandinavian tranquillity.
