Their collaborations span iconic figures like Kendrick Lamar, Anyma, and Alicia Keys, alongside prestigious fashion brands and publications. Leaping, they now venture into music, channelling their rich creative essence into their debut track, “A Better World.”

The Anthem of Hope and Transformation

Penned during a phase of introspection, “A Better World” encapsulates the Ebinum Brothers’ quest to spread love and uplift humanity. This poignant track, with its soul-stirring lyrics and captivating tunes, is an anthem envisioning a compassionate world they call HOME. It is a compelling art piece, echoing their dreams for a hopeful tomorrow.

A Cinematic Vision by Benjamin Nicolas

The music video for “A Better World” is a breathtaking visual masterpiece, birthed from the collaboration with Parisian-born, Montreal-based director Benjamin Nicolas. Known for his multifaceted creative journey from acting and photography to award-winning fashion and sports films, Nicolas brings his narrative magic to this project.

A Poetic and Metaphorical Odyssey

“Speaking with the Ebinum Brothers brought forth a profound spiritual vibe that I aimed to translate into something poetic and symbolic,” shares Benjamin Nicolas. “Green was our foundation, and soon after, the scarab beetle emerged as a significant motif. In Egyptian mythology, the scarab beetle, or Khepri, symbolises the sun’s journey across the sky, representing the cycles of life, death, and rebirth.”

The scarab motif intertwines with the video’s themes of self-renewal and resilience. This ancient symbol of regeneration enhances the narrative of inner transformation, mirroring the Ebinum Brothers’ journey toward self-rebirth. Each visual element crafts a metaphor for personal evolution, resonating with the spiritual and transformative essence that defines their art.

Congratulations on your debut single! Can you share the inspiration behind “A Better World”?

“a better world” is a song that was created in the period of finding ourselves, the space between who we once were and who we are now. The inspiration behind this creation came from the state of the world, our view of the world and our hope for the world.

How has your journey from Lagos to London influenced your music and artistic expression?

The transition from Lagos to London has had a positive impact on our music journey; we are able to work and collaborate with people connected in the music space easily. However, the transition did not influence our artistic expression, as our intention towards creating and sharing has always been the same.

Your movement storytelling is truly unique. How do you translate this visual art form into your music?

We prefer to say it’s an addition to our forms of expression. Our movements have always been about the feeling and the story we are trying to convey, it’s never been about the movements and that is the same for our music. So, we will say it’s going to be a smooth addition because the feeling and the story remain the same. It’s all an expression of who we are.

What messages or themes do you hope listeners take away from “A Better World”?

We want the listeners to feel the love, light and hope it carries.

Benjamin Nicolas directed your music video. What was it like collaborating with him, and how did you decide on the poetic and symbolic elements in the video?

Our collaboration with Benjamin began incredibly on Instagram. After coming across one of our videos, Benjamin reached out to us, expressing his interest in working together. We were immediately drawn to his body of work and felt a strong creative connection with him. Following an inspiring initial conversation about our song “a better world,” we knew we wanted to bring its message to life through a music video. Despite the distance, us being in London and Benjamin in Montreal, we started working on ideas that same month. The process was seamless, with a constant exchange of artistic concepts. The colour green, which holds significant meaning for us, became the foundational element of our collaboration.

The scarab beetle is a significant motif in your music video. Can you explain its significance and how it ties into the theme of the song?

For us, the scarab beetle represents our connection with light. The song expresses the feeling of a better world. It’s our way of sharing our light with the world, the scarab beetle is something that’s going to be seen a lot in videos of ours to come.

You’ve worked with renowned artists like Kendrick Lamar, Anyma, and Alicia Keys. How have these collaborations shaped your artistic journey?

We are excited to have collaborated with these amazing artists. It was an amazing experience in our journey.

What challenges did you face transitioning from dance and movement to music, and how did you overcome them?

We would not say there were any challenges, music isn’t something we woke up one day and decided to do. We grew up in a music family and have been involved in music ever since we were kids. We always knew we would one day share our music with the world in addition to our movements. This isn’t a “transition”, this is an addition

How does “A Better World” reflect your personal experiences and evolution as an artist?

“a better world” reflects our personal experiences and evolution as artists because of the intention, it expresses who we are, and our minds.

What role do you think music plays in healing and uplifting humanity, a core message in your debut single?

Music is a form of art, every artist tells a story and stories inspire. We feel like music can be healing and uplifting, depending on the artist’s sincerity.

Looking ahead, what other projects or musical endeavours do you have planned for the future?

After the release of  “a better world”, we’ll be working towards our first musical project, which would be our debut EP.

How can your fans continue to support your journey, and what can they expect next from the Ebinum Brothers?
